N°5 — Cultural/Interior Goethe Institute Nairobi

After decades without significant investment, the Goethe-Institut Nairobi required a complete rethinking of its office, library, and auditorium. We were commissioned to develop a new concept and deliver it within a fixed budget - restoring the institute's presence in the centre of the city and making it a genuine hub for Nairobi's cultural scene.

Presence Restored
The challenge was to work within an existing shell and produce something that felt entirely new — a space that could host readings, screenings, and public gatherings while functioning as a working office and library. The result is a layered interior that draws visitors inward from the street, with the auditorium acting as the civic heart of the building.
